Gastronomic Recommendations in Madrid
ORCHESTRA:
The classic structure of an old cinema now houses a gourmet space that brings together creative flavor proposals in a tapas area, a pastry shop, a gourmet product shop, a gastronomic market with Mediterranean and international cuisine, a cocktail bar and the Canalla restaurant Bistro, with an eclectic international fusion.
GIRL:
Inspired by the effect of the passage of time, the industrial venue serves imaginative Mediterranean-based dishes. The surprising stars of the house are the tempura aubergines with cane honey and hummus, and the crispy prawns Yakitori with basil foam.
AMAZONIAN:
Under an ornate decoration that takes you fully into the jungle, Amazónico brings together an Asian food bar and an open kitchen with a wide range of flavors inspired by Mediterranean and Brazilian cuisine.
BIBO:
Under a cosmopolitan atmosphere, a creative Andalusian and Mediterranean fusion surprises, whose offer includes dishes such as Russian salad with quail egg, oxtail brioche and salmorejo with spider crab. National wines, craft beers and cocktails accompany the imaginative flavors.
CUTTING ROOM:
Between white walls, without decoration alterations, this atypical place pays tribute to the classic Spanish tapas, but in a less traditional way.
BA CIRCLE ROOF:
Located in one of the most important cultural centers in Europe, La Azotea is a gastro-cultural space enriched by the beauty of its building, the spectacular views over the city and the creative and experimental offer of its cocktail bar.
POINTER:
It has an international gastronomic proposal based on Mediterranean products. The space is made up of three contrasting corners inspired by the neighborhoods of New York that, under warm lighting and soft sounds, invites you to have the first drinks of the afternoon.
HALF RATIONS:
An elegant brasserie with a traditional soul, where the culinary tradition of the capital is very present. There some delicious tripe await you, a Russian salad that spreads from mouth to mouth, a grilled marrow that is a scandal and even the mythical squid sandwich, which are jig and with jalapeño mayonnaise. You can eat in the dining room or, if you fancy something more informal, at the bar, where the same menu is offered as well as some appetizers.
MARTINIQUE:
A new restaurant that will make you travel to the five continents. It arrives from Salamanca to the center of Madrid, to a spectacular cosmopolitan venue with notes halfway between the traditional and the exotic, exactly the same as its menu, which also includes a wonderful daily executive menu. The Italian chef based in the Castilian-Leonese city, Marcello Salaris, soaks up the country with "the best national product", he tells us, and also from Japan, Mexico, Morocco or his native Sardinia and shows exquisite, original and well-crafted dishes.
FIREWOOD AND SMOKED ROOM:
Two different proposals, but with the same guiding thread: smoke. This is what Leña and Smoked Room are like, the latest concepts that the Marbella chef has opened sharing a location, at the Hotel Hyatt Regency Hesperia in Madrid, the latter a gastronomic bar for 14 diners with a tasting menu that seeks stardom._cc781905-5cde- 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_

TORQUATO
«Torcuato is our most traveled restaurant, with an unparalleled location on the roof of the legendary Abc Serrano building, where you can taste an eclectic cuisine that will transport you to the most exotic places in the world. A unique enclave where you can eat, dine and have a few drinks in a very special atmosphere in the heart of the Salamanca district.»
ZALACAIN
The legendary Madrid restaurant, a pioneer in Spain in winning three Michelin stars, reopens to face a new era. Both in the kitchen and in the dining room, the team from his last stage remains, now under the gastronomic direction of chef Iñigo Urrechu. If you go, you will find that the soul of the restaurant remains practically intact and even, going a step further, it connects with its most authentic origins, those of its first stage.
COMMODORE
Vuelve also what was Mayte Commodore, another of the temples to which the jet from Madrid and half of Spain made pilgrimages. The Casa Remigio group has taken over the huge venue, that imposing corner in the Plaza de la República Argentina, and has converted it into a fun multi-space with interior design by Luis Galliussi that makes you travel back to the 70s; Amarguería cocktail bar with a great Alex Zambrano in charge. Everything at all hours, from morning to night, with an appetizing offer halfway between national with a touch of foreign, between Latino (its chef is Mexican) and Asian. You have to see it.
BARDER
It may become the "foodie" sensation outside the center, in Arganzuela, with a sparkling cosmopolitan cuisine between the traditional and the "trendy" without neglecting honesty, affordable prices and the best new potato omelette in Madrid. Those responsible are the Argentine Pablo Paternostro and the Uruguayan León Bonasso.
THE PIZZA SHOP
The very cool Argentines in front of Dudy Café, in Chueca, have installed an oven that takes away the hiccups in an ideal location at number 20 Calle Barquillo, another in Plaza de San Ildefonso and they have started to make some wonderful pizzas Neapolitan style to repeat and repeat. This simple, casual and hyper-appetizing Italian, decorated by the muralist Curro Leyton and with an interior design by Nacho Álvarez, director of the Onlyou studio, has truly won us over.
DON DIMAS
Making the ordinary something extraordinary is the first mantra of chef Álvaro Garcés. And he succeeds in doing so, it is what he has to drink from the best: Berasategui, Ruscalleda or Ducasse himself. "Don Dimas y Amigos", in the restaurant, the Andalusian tradition rules above all, as you will have deduced from its name. Because you know whose pet Don Dimas was, right? Come google.
ASIAN GALLERY
If you are one of those who control most of the Chinese that are worth it, in your list of the premium ones in Madrid, you will have to put Asia Gallery, an heir to the one in the Palace Hotel but something more informal. Connoisseurs know that chef Roger Chen, a pioneer of Asian cuisine in Madrid, brings traditional recipes from Shanghai and Sichuan.
CLAUDIO COELLO WAY
The award-winning bar, the most sophisticated in Alicante, finally lands at Claudio Coello 3, preceded by the resounding success of its Levantine predecessor and El Portal and El Singular, also in that city. A good croquette, a real salad, a well-known squid sandwich, shellfish or gourmet products and own-brand wines define its offer. Watch out for their champagnes.
Barracuda MX
We were looking forward to trying the new Roberto Ruiz after the closure of Punto MX. And the chef has once again left us with our mouths open and our bellies happy. In a much more informal place and with a much more democratic average ticket, the recently opened Barracuda MX is a tribute to the gastronomy of the Mexican Pacific, to offer you fascinating aguachiles, original guacamoles with prawns, ceviches, grilled sea bass that are a spectacle and some more 'traditional' dishes like the best tacos al pastor we've had outside of Mexico. Warning: keep an eye out for the Michelada and the Margaritas. They enter alone.
